YouTube has Escalated its AdBlocker Crackdown — What you can do with Stands Adblocker
June 06, 2025
Hi everyone,
It looks like YouTube has now rolled out its adblocker detection to nearly everyone. What was previously a limited test on selected users is now affecting the majority, and yes, that includes Stands users too.
Here’s what you can do right now to keep using Stands without completely losing access to YouTube:
- Temporarily whitelist YouTube in your Stands settings. This will stop the player from being blocked, but unfortunately, you’ll see YouTube ads. The good news is that Stands will continue to block ads on all your other favorite sites.
- Use Stands in Firefox. Since Firefox is not Chromium-based, YouTube’s detection mechanisms are less effective there, so you might have better luck avoiding ads altogether. We're seeing better results in Firefox than in Chrome or other Chromium browsers.
We know this isn’t ideal, and we’re actively working on a better long-term solution. Our team is doing everything we can to adapt and release an update as soon as possible.
Thanks so much for your patience and for sticking with us 💜
